Focal Point
The hands are isolated in their location. The stark contrast of industrial materials with the organic life around it cause for the viewers eye to focus on the hands that sit on top of the rocks. The plants grow high around the sculpture, framing it for the viewer and encourages an intimate approach and viewing of the work.

Movement
The exaggerated proportions of the figures, particularly with the woman bending backwards, gives the illusion of movement to the already shifting action of sex. The flimsy nature of the woman figure, with an assumed male figure penetrating her in a static position, causes for this image to have a somewhat violent undertone. One could also interpret the marker lines as movement indicators, or contour lines suggesting movement.

A few of my favorite things...
1.) A cherry blossom themed ostomy cover
After I had my emergency ileostomy placement, this provided me comfort and confidence in my new body.
2.) A lego friends figure with an ostomy
A rare non-negative representation of an ostomy.
3.) Hole's Live Through This CD
One of my favorite albums. It introduced me to punk rock and inspired me to get involved in the Richmond punk scene where I made all my friends.
4.) Mona Awad's All's Well
I read this while bedbound from my illness. This was my first exposure to accurate fiction centered around a disabled woman.
5.) My "fairy" mug
My first attempt at throwing a mug. I am in love with the glaze and the earl grey tea in it.
6.) R.E.M beauty Fembot
I love any kind of glitter. It reminds me of my first job at a body art facility.
7.) Heretic Parfum's Midnight Toker
I have always been obsessed with scents, even more so since my ostomy placement.
8.) E.L.F Squeeze me lip balm: Watermelon
This is my version of Brittany Murphy and her Dr. Pepper chapstick.
